Walker Chairs White House Aerospace Commission
President George W. Bush appointed Wexler & Walker Public Policy Associates Chairman
and CEO Robert Walker to head the Commission on the Future of the United States
Aerospace Industry. Walker led Mr. Bush's Space, Science and Technology Task Force
during the 2000 presidential campaign. He also chaired the House Science Committee
during the final years of his distinguished 20-year congressional career.
"I am honored to be assuming this important post," said Walker. "Changes in the nature
of the industry and challenges from foreign industry cause us to reassess how the federal
government impacts the aerospace industry. In addition, the tragic events of September 11
add a new dimension to the Commission's mandate, and we are eager to begin our work
and assist the President and Congress as they address this national crisis."
