Walker Receives Top Civilian Honor From NASA

Washington D.C. – The Honorable Robert S. Walker, Chairman of Wexler & Walker Public Policy Associates, recently received NASA’s Distinguished Public Service Medal for his service to NASA.

The NASA Distinguished Public Service Medal is the highest honor awarded by NASA to non-government civilians whose distinguished accomplishments have contributed substantially to the NASA mission. According to NASA, the contribution must be so extraordinary that other forms of recognition would be inadequate. Read more here.


Walker Named in Top 100 in Space Industry

Wexler & Walker Chairman Robert Walker was as recently named by Space News as one of the top 100 people who have made a difference in the civil, commercial, and military space industry in the last 15 years.

Space News describes Walker as “one of Washington’s most influential lobbyists” and by saying, “After serving as House Science Committee chairman in the early 1990’s, Walker’s stature and influence have only grown since leaving Congress.”

Space News is the premier business-to-business international news weekly dedicated entirely to the commercial and military space and satellite communication businesses. The publication is marking its 15th anniversary in 2004.


Wexler & Walker Trade Team Leads U.S.-Australia to Unprecedented Wins in House and Senate

The coalition and trade team at Wexler & Walker started in 2001 to build the U.S. business coalition -- American Australia Free Trade Agreement Coalition -- supporting an FTA with Australia. With over 350 members, the coalition witnessed overwhelming success in Congress in July 2004 -- unprecedented for a trade vote: the House of Representatives passed the FTA by 314-109, while the Senate did so by 80-16. The FTA will reduce barriers to trade and investment, and enhance this already vital relationship that is central to ensuring stability in the Asia-Pacific region.


Tim Hannegan: Top Aviation Lobbyist

The Hill on June 28, 2004 listed the top airline and aviation lobbyists in Washington, DC and included Wexler & Walker's Tim Hannegan:

In The Hill's annual survey of top lobbyists in Washington -- "Top Hired Guns" (March 31, 2004) -- both Bob Walker and Anne Wexler were listed among the most influential:

Robert Walker
Wexler & Walker’s chairman, has been credited with contributing to the GOP takeover of Congress in 1994.

Anne Wexler
An aide in the Carter White House and former associate publisher of Rolling Stone magazine, Wexler has been a trailblazing woman, running lobbying shops for 20 years.

Walker Appointed to Presidential Space Implementation Commission

January 31, 2004. President George W. Bush announced his intention to appoint Bob Walker to be a Member of the Presidential Commission on Implementation of United States Space Exploration Policy.

The mission of the Commission shall be to provide recommendations to the President, on implementation of the vision outlined in the President's policy statement entitled "A Renewed Spirit of Discovery" and the President's Budget Submission for Fiscal Year 2005.
