PADDY LINK

Paddy Link has over thirty years' experience working at the highest levels of government.
With service in the House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate on the personal staffs of Congressmen and Senators as well as on committees in both bodies, she was the first woman to head the staff of the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation. Ms. Link was instrumental in drafting and enacting The Telecommunications Act of 1996.
During her tenure as Chief of Staff, the Committee reported, and the Senate passed, the Maritime Security Act, the Sustainable Fisheries Act and the only comprehensive tort reform legislation ever to clear the U.S. Senate.
Ms. Link came to Wexler & Walker Public Policy Associates from the Senate Committee on Appropriations where she was responsible for funding recommendations for all U.S. trade agencies, the Department of Commerce, the Federal Communications Commission, the Federal Trade Commission, the Maritime Administration, and the Small Business Administration, among others.
Ms. Link’s Capitol Hill career began in the House of Representatives. She later went to the U.S. Senate where she worked before joining the Reagan Administration. During the Reagan Administration, Ms. Link served at the Department of Commerce, working in the Office of the Secretary and then at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration as Legislative Director. In 1992, she returned to Capitol Hill and the House Science Committee, handling technology, environmental and aviation research and development issues. She subsequently moved to the U.S. Senate, serving as Chief of Staff to Senator Larry Pressler before going to the Commerce Committee.
